1965 Cognac Borderies - 54 Years Old - Grosperrin for C. Dully - 56.7%
Dies ist ein Cognac für Liebhaber von Whiskys aus den 1960ern. Es ist kein einfacher „Trink-Cognac,“ sondern ein sehr komplexer und anspruchsvoller.
Dieser Cognac wurde in 1965 destilliert und stammt aus einem Einzelfass, welches speziell für uns abgefüllt wurde. Aus über 25 verschiedenen Fässern, destilliert zwischen 1940 und 1993, war dieses Fass unser Favorit.
Der Cognac zeigt spürbare Noten von Tropenfrüchten, sowie Cassis Noten im Abgang, welche uns an ältere Irische Whiskys erinnern.
Nach 54 Jahren im Fass ist dieser Cognac extrem komplex und konzentriert, und benötigt viel Zeit, Luft, und eventuell auch ein paar Tropfen Wasser. Wir empfehlen, ihn gegen Ende eines Tastings zu probieren, da er sehr kräftig und intensiv ist.
Wie bei Rare Malts und auch bei unserem Fettercairn empfehlen wir, nach dem Öffnen dieses Cognacs, 5-10cl in eine kleinere Flasche zu dekantieren. Nach ein paar Tagen öffnet sich der Cognac und die tropischen Noten rücken in den Vordergrund, während sich der Einfluss des Holzes reduziert.

This cognac should appeal to lovers of Single Malts from the 1960s. It is not an easy drinking cognac, but rather a very concentrated and complex spirit that requires time and patience. It is a cognac for experienced whisky drinkers.
This single cask cognac was distilled in 1965 and was bottled exclusively for us, after being chosen out of over 25 casks, ranging from vintage 1940 to 1993. We chose it for its fruity, complex character, as well as for its finish that features intense notes of cassis, which reminds us of some of the best Irish Whiskys.
After 54 years in cask, this cognac needs a lot of time and air to open up, but patience here will be rewarded. It also benefits from a few drops of water. With its intensity and concentration, it is a spirit best enjoyed toward the end of a tasting session.
As with most Rare Malts and with our Fettercairn, we recommend opening this bottle and decanting 5-10cl. Enough air will allow it to open up beautifully.
