Diese nördlich von Inverness in der Region Sutherland gelegene Destillerie produziert ein unter Kennern sehr geschätztes Destillat, berühmt für den maritimen und floral fruchtigen Charakter gepaart mit den stilbildenden wachsigen Noten.
Es handelt sich dabei um eine unserer liebsten Destillerien. Man beachte zu dem Thema “Secret Distillery“ unser neu entworfenes Flaschen-Rücketikett mit der Landkarte der jeweils relevanten Whisky Region. Was das Sternchen wohl zu bedeuten hat?
Geruch: Fruchtkorb (Pfirsich, Grapefruit, reife Zitrusfrüchte, grüner Apfel und gelbe Honigpflaume sowie ein wenig Mango) kombiniert mit maritimen und mineralischen Kreidenoten gepaart mit einem grasigen Duft. Dann folgt ein Hauch Menthol und leichte Kerzenwachs Noten.
Gaumen: konsistent mit dem ersten Eindruck an der Nase - Limone, Limette, grüner Apfel, Stachelbeere und Pfirsich wieder gepaart mit leichten mineralischen und salzigen Kreidenoten, Honig und Bienenwachs sowie Orientalische Süssigkeiten.
Abgang: ziemlich lang, mehr reife Zitrusfrüchte, Orangenschale, Honig und eine Prise Meersalz.
Ein eleganter und sehr fruchtbetonter Vertreter seiner Zunft!

This bottling is the first in our map series, with a back label that features the region that the unnameable whisky was distilled in.
The distillery, located north of Inverness in the Sutherland region, produces a distillate that is highly valued among whisky lovers, famous for its maritime and floral fruity character paired with the style-defining waxy notes.
Nose: fruit basket (peach, grapefruit, ripe citrus fruits, green apple and yellow honey plum as well as a little mango) combined with maritime and mineral chalk notes paired with a grassy scent. Then follows a hint of menthol and light candle wax notes.
Palate: consistent with the first impression on the nose - lime, lemon, green apple, gooseberry and peach paired with light mineral and salty chalk notes, honey and beeswax as well as oriental sweets.
Finish: quite long, ripe citrus, orange peel, honey, and a pinch of sea salt.
An elegant and rather fruit-driven representative of its distillery!
