Ben Nevis ist ein Whisky für wahre Single Malt Fans, der in der breiten Öffentlichkeit noch relativ unbekannt ist. Unter Kennern wird er aber zunehmend für seine Qualitäten geschätzt. Vor allem der Jahrgang 1996 hat sich bei den Liebhabern des "Tropenfrucht-Stils" kürzlich einen Namen gemacht.
Geruch: erfüllt sofort alle Erwartungen und hat diesen schönen "Old-School-Früchtecharakter", Limette, Kiwi, Sauvignon blanc, Passionsfrucht, Mango, Grapefruit, Steinobst und Wildblumen. Kombiniert tropische Früchte mit subtilen mineralischen und minzigen Noten auf einer sehr eleganten Weise.
Gaumen: harmonisch, ein Whisky der Spitzenklasse. Minze, Mineralsalze, verschiedene exotische Früchte, Zitrussaft, Zitronenlikör, rosa Pampelmuse, subtile wachsartige Noten, weiche Lakritze, Zitronengras, feuchte Erde, eingelegte Früchte, Chutneys und Balsaholz.
Abgang: ziemlich lang, saftiger Fruchtgummi, Grapefruit, Zitrus, sogar Noten eines Citra-gehopften IPA ;-), Bonbons im Nachgeschmack.

Ben Nevis, a whisky still relatively undiscovered by the general public, is a single malt for enthusiasts. However, appreciation for the beauty of this distillate is starting to spread. The 1996 vintage in particular is earning a legendary reputation amongst fans of the old „tropical fruit style“ of single malt.
Nose: immediately ticking all expected boxes, it has an old school fruit vibe. Lime, kiwi, sauvignon blanc, passion fruit, mango, grapefruit, stone fruits and wild flowers. It combines tropical fruit and subtle mineral, minty notes in a very elegant manner.
Palate: harmonious, a top-notch whisky. mint, mineral salts, various exotic fruits, citrus juice, citron liqueur, pink grapefruit, subtle waxy notes, soft liquorice, lemon grass, damp earth, pickled fruits, chutneys and balsa wood.
Finish: rather long, juicy fruit bubblegum, grapefruit, citrus, even notes of a citra-hopped IPA ;-), bonbons in the aftertaste.
